A baglope is a bag made out of an envelope. You can easily turn a plain old envelope into a work of art.
Materials
1 invitation size envelope (any size envelope will work)
Any stamps and inks
Red cardstock measuring 4 ½" x 2"
Hole punch
Gold cording or ribbon
Red cardstock measuring 2" x 2"
White cardstock measuring 1 ¾" x 1 ¾"
Blender pen and inks for coloring in the gift tag
Adhesive
Candy or something to put in the bagalope
Directions
Stamp and decorate the envelope as desired
Seal the envelope shut
Cut ½" off one of the sides. Preferably one of the shorter sides.
Score each of the remaining sides at ¾"
Fold and crease each of the scored lines then unfold everything.
Stick your hand into the opening to support the envelope while pushing down on the opposite end to create the bottom of the bagalope. Keep pushing until the bottom levels off at the score mark.
The corners of the bottom should start to form. Crease them to make triangular points. Glue the points down to the bottom of the baglaope. You should now have a nice bottom for your bagalope to stand up on its own.
Stamp and decorate the white cardstock. Adhere the white cardstock to the square of red cardstock
Fold the long piece of red cardstock in half lengthwise. Place over the top of the bagalope to close it.
Punch 2 holes at the top of the bag through the cardstock and envelope. Thread through the cording and attach the gift tag. Tie off with a bow.
